People Helping People

July 9, 2008 · Filed Under help with debt, money saving ideas

Our buddy from San Francisco shared a website with us. We love hearing about these cool websites. It’s the *buzz* – “word of mouth marketing”, “social networking”.

Our company is so about sharing information and resources.

The website he shared is called Prosper. This business has set up an online community that lends and borrows money to each other.

If you have money to lend, you will be able to review listings, then bid for the loans with their rates that you would like to fund.

If you have a need to borrow money, you create a listing with the lowest interest rate you would accept.  There are different kinds of loans that people have asked for in this online community: personal, auto, debt consolidation, home improvement, student loans and much more.

With this bidding process and service, it creates great loans with the lowest interest rate. Sounds like a win-win situation. The idea is similar to that of ebay

I read a little about the founders of Prosper and I like them already. Prosper was founded by Chris Larsen and John Witchel, both believe in the philosophy of letting people help people by being able to determine how and where their money gets allocated and at what price.

“People helping People”, I LOVE IT!!!

Funny how Fritz Henderson supposedly didn’t like rebadging cars, like the G8 as a Chevy (in this case the Chevy is a dog), but had no problem in rebadging the Opel Insignia as the Buick Regal, and the Chevy Cruze as another small Buick.

Starting to look like GM 1986, all over again. Eeeew!
