Don’t Believe the Lies!

How do you expect to get ahead? To be clear of your debt? Do you think a pay raise will do it?

In our minds, we think that if we could just make a little bit more money we can be financially secure.
That’s a lie that we like to believe. IF we could just make more money, IF I could go to school and get a better paying job. So on, so on, so on.

The truth of the matter is, we will only have financial security if we set financial boundaries, if we set realistic goals and we stick to it. If you can’t say “no” today with your current budget, chances are you won’t be able to say “no” tomorrow with a higher budget or income.
Get out of that mindset where you think we deserve this and we deserve that. We don’t deserve a thing! What are your true needs? Food and shelter. And I’m saying, food that’s in your budget, you can’t be eating out all the time or eating fish or a big juicy steak every night. Learn to be frugal. Learn to live within your means. Shelter- I’m talking about, practical home in practical area. I’m NOT talking, by the beach, 4 bedroom home when there’s 2 of you.

I’m also not saying that you have to live like a poor person, just live REASONABLY.
Each and every one of us is in different situations. Some of us ARE living well *and* being able to be wise with money, but need to plan for our retirement or our kids’ education. Some of us are in survival mode, just barely scraping by. Some of us are drowning in debt and have no hope to financial security, even hope for survival. Whatever our situation, whatever our needs, if you need some help, reach out and do something about it. There are a lot of resources and tools available online, there are a lot of people that are experts in these financial areas. Believe it or not, some of them will even give you a free consultation.

Access your honest (and modest) needs and your financial goals today. Don’t settle for that life of unmet needs.

I’ve found an awesome resource -financial calculators where you can see where you’re at financially and do something to get you going in the right direction, towards your financial goals and that security that we long for. Go to it, we’ve got work to do!
